Description / Overview
The SolidDrive SD1 is part of the SD series. It's a powerful audio converter, also called a 'transducer'. The compact device transforms various surfaces into an audio loudspeaker! The SD-1 converts acoustic energy to vibrations, through magnets, and vibrates the surface with this - like a sounding board. This causes the whole surface to change into an audio speaker. This way, sound can be produced everywhere - without the use of clearly noticeable speakers.

The SD1g attaches to glass and other non-porous surfaces using a double-sided adhesive disk (included). Each SD1g is designed for one channel of audio. An optional equilization module optimizes the SD1g for use on glass. The SolidDrive utilizes patent-pending dual-voice coil technology in an aluminum enclosure to transfer acoustic energy to any substrate with very high-powered neodymium magnets and dual symmetrically opposed motors to convert audio signals into powerful vibrations. Those vibrations are transferred into solid surfaces through direct contact. High-quality, full-range sound is then radiated from the entire surface with a frequency response of 60 Hz to 15 kHz. The symmetrically opposed neodymium magnets and specifically engineered mounting hardware results in hidden planar-source acoustics. The result is acoustical uniformity throughout the listening space.
