Overview

Power over Ethernet (or PoE) describes any of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electric power along with data on twisted pair Ethernet cabling.  This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electric power to devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras, network routers, industrial controllers, keyless entry, intercoms, lighting and more!

This device provides a low-cost solution for delivering power to a 5 volt camera or other device over 328-492ft (100-
150m) of network cable. This device allows power to be carried on 10/100Mbps of data transfer rate networks with
802.3af switches with network cable.  The PoE switch supplies 48 volts DC at the source location.
